Videotaped by Richard DuCharme at the Manitou Music Festival in Manitou Springs, CO - 8/26/06

This was the summer that I began attending dulcimer festivals. Two months earlier, I had learned "Wellyn" in a class taught by Butch Ross, which paved the way for this amazing opportunity eight weeks later.

Robert is now a dear friend and much more has transpired musically, including the forthcoming release "In The Garden of the Gods" by Manitou.

  • This is still a magical dulcimer moment. I've watched it before but just had to stop by and watch it again.

  • Thanks, Tara! I'm so very blessed to have had that opportunity to play "Wellyn" with Robert.

  • Im from the UK where the dulcimer isnt particularly well known. I too have bought one on the strength of your videos!

  • That is awesome! I'm so glad you've joined the family - if there's anything you'd like to see here on the show, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm hoping to visit the UK next year - with the number of dulcimer players popping up, we'll have to have a meet-up.

  • Oh.....ich mag es auch ;)

    Danke Bing

  • That's awesome! When anyone buys a dulcimer, I'm just happy all over. Glad you've joined the worldwide community! Hope to see you at a festival sometime soon!

  • You two guys made me go out and buy a dulcimer! I will follow both of your online lessons dutifully ... and who knows! Thanks much for those lessons. A wonderful gift. Best to you and Robert.
