Long term goal challenge- female aspiring to obtain & recreate on demand a balanced handstand atop flat side of BOSU BALL away from wall. Previous efforts one practice session against wall couple days ago, video posted for comparison.

Progress report: using blocks as props to reduce wiggle & mentally build confidence... yeah right, you can see blocks don't stay planted after initial "pop up" by feet.

Stepping out of my comfort zone while recording the results.
Experimenting with momentum, helps or hinders, too much or not enough; hard to control at this point.

Self study- visualization before practicing & repetition to establish muscle memory is the plan to develop proficient skill.
Trying to remain calm in the midst of chaos, insanity rules now, maintaining "safety first" priority in forefront of mind.

Home-based practice, self-motivated student, working to improve stability, strength, flexibility.
Muscle confusion & balance challenge evident while on Bosu ball. Bobble wobble & fall experiences.

Advanced skill level, high risk of falling, practice at your own risk.

  • That yoga block was doing nothing for you. Great effort. Your about 95% there. After you get it you are going to have to do it again with a weight vest on and perform some hand stand push-ups.

  • @yyportne

Appreciate constructive critique, you are one tough drill sergeant to please asking me to add weight vest & perform handstand push-ups! maybe in my next life! Thanks, maybe you could post a video to show me??!

I will add the response if it passes muster with me!

  • Love your determination and belief in self!

Stubborn can get me in trouble too, sometimes don't know when it is BEST to call it quits!

  • @NelsonYogaInversions Your stubborn persistence is what is gets you the results and is part of what we love about you.

  • @RickVanderVeen

Right on about falling safely being a key issue.

Developing the muscle memory, like riding a bicycle, most people don't forget & relearn quickly. Watching your video motivated me a lot to give it a try, your handstand seems very consistent & solid.

Thanks for posting Rick & have a fantastic weekend!

  • Wow, good job. It's looks like you've learned how to handle over balances safely, that's the important part. I haven't tried it since I did my little video of it, so my last experience is falling off of it. I may have to try that again. You're doing some really incredible things.

  • @ZeBeFruity

    Thank you.

Yes, sandbags would be A LOT more stable! FANTASTIC idea!

Next time I practice this will be working on weaning myself off the blocks if possible. I will post again in few weeks, months, ???? if there is marked improvement only, ok?

LOTS of other fun stuff to work on... so little time!

  • @rolandsc

Blocks did help, even if mentally only!

Only showed about half of actual attempts- yikes, stubborn gal not knows when to quit!
