Very nice,
Maytag used to use the same concept to advance the timer dials on their washers. The difference was that the escapement wasn't directly driven by the timer motor itself. The motor
would wind up a spring loaded mech that would push the escapement forward a precise amount once a certain level of tension was reached.

I see some applications for wave energy. Because of how it doesn't matter which way the thing is being turned. Very cool Gramps. :)

That's the kinda guy you want to hang around just to hope some of his genius rubs off on you.
I had a shop teacher like that in high school. Easily the smartest guy in the school.
