This song was collected by the great musician Dallas Gladden (1895-1967). It's an Appalachian song of either Anglo Saxon or Celtic descent, but we don't know how far back it may really go. Fantastic it is, indeed and I can't wait to hear more gems like this from the incredible Chieftains, teamed up with the wonderful Patty Griffin!
