I think it just depends on where you live, no one in my area that I know of does it either. Still there's cheerleading, fashion shows, etc.

I have to say one thing I enjoy about Chris Rock is the fact he thinks out of the box, and the fact even when he's funny there's a lot of truth in it.

that's actually a quite interesting thought about sports & pageants. like men are rewarded based on performance, women are rewarded based on looks.
