  • So there was a camera for all the drum fills, the guitar solos, keyboard solos, but no camera for the bass solo????!!!!! Wow.....

  • Myung on the big screen at 3:58 ,

there is a camera for bass of course, but i don't know why we don't see it in the video

  • @17secret i really hate that bassist almost never get much attention unless they do a solo (i am a bassist in a band myself) and i can totally relate to this

don't get me wrong, there are bands that give all players good attention and i get, lets say mediocre, attention in the band.

like when i had one local gig and it was a small stage. i had to be back almost next to the drums, behind the guitarists (we have 3 :S

oh well, guess it's something i'll have to live with :P

  • @WpA09 I always thought of the bass dudes as the wizards in the background away from fame spots, and without bass, the song will lose its deep and mystical dimension.

And as far as I know, the only way for a bassist to connect directly with the large public is to do the vocals while he is playing, like in some bands such as Thin Lizzy and Type O-, but in your case my friend i'm not sure if your 3 guitar heroes will be that easy to skip! eheh..

  • @17secret I'm a drummer and a guitarist and I still think that bassists deserve a lot more attention than they get... I mean come on John Myung has been voted the best bassist in the world and yet he gets only this much attention (I don't blame the band for this after all they don't choose the camera angles and editing and all that) but I honestly think too many bands give too much attention to vocalists and not enough to others (although this isn't the case in DT)

  • @InfamousPillarKid I agree with you and I guess that the bands would rather emphasize on the vocalist because the majority of the crowd is made of 'non-musicians' and they are mostly familiar with the lyrics and the singing.

I have chosen a DT instrumental for that reason btw!
