CNN Worldview has broadcast an ISRAEL21c story about Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian environmentalists who are challenging a World Bank administered plan to revive the dying Dead Sea by linking it to the Red Sea.
@IsraeliXdude I'd forgotten about that :-) And one should not forget the The Canal du Midi that was built in the 17th century, to connect the Mediterranean with the Atlantic.
The Red Sea and Mediterranean are linked by the Suez canal, so two seas have been joined by a man made connection, and with reported complications of bio-migration to the detriment of the Mediterranean's biosphere. It would make better sense to rehabilitate the Jordan, but the viability of that rehabilitation is not entirely under Israeli control, since Lebanon and Syria, etc., have claims to that supply of water. Which is why the Red Sea option is the more viable option.
