Amtrak Cardinal Train 51 - The Cardinal's Song

The Amtrak Cardinal Train 51 and Amtrak Cardinal Train 50 both travel from New York city to Chicago three times a week. This song is about the section both trains travel from Clifton Forge, Virginia through the West Virginia New River Gorge which many consider to be the most scenic section of the line.

That's right, the Cardinal needs to run on and on! Fun, affordable and energy efficient travel. Sen. Byrd and Rep. Rahall helped save the train when they tried to stop it in 1979-82. We need two trains a day through all major cities nationwide. Join NARP, natl. assn. of rr passengers.

The Superliner equipment dates the shots because it be all the wrecks took the Silverliners out of service and the train was extended to DC. Big Bayou Canot was 93 so I'm thinking those shots were early 90's. Anybody know exactly when they came off?

never been on the Cardinal but maybe this September, i will take her from Washington DC to Chicago. Nice song, i like it. Working on plans for my City of Miami in modern day Amtrak fashion--Chicago to Miami, Fla. All Superliners, in HO scale and running mainly on CSX and FEC trackage.
