Two dislikes? Really? Lame. I liked it, I was homeless in Eugene for years myself.

I was homeless on the streets in eugene, i've met a lot of great people including David Gerber from the Oregon Vagabond, definitly one of the best things that happend to me in eugene was selling the oregon vagabond, but people still seemed to treat me like shit even though i was asking them for work, as well as working for the oregon vagabond... To all of you who put homeless people down, and tell them their worthless, just remember, you may need our help someday, and some of us hold grudges

I know every single one of the homeless people interveiwed in this video. they are kindhearted people who will do anything they can to help another and that is the biggest reason they are homeless.trevor and toren now have an apartment together and have jobs, no thanks to any kind of homeless connect or drop center. yes they get foodstamps but so do countless other people who arent any worse off than you or me. these people are people, and they do what they have to to survive.

I resent that trash remark... I've been homeless several times. Homeless people are victims. These people don't have a choice and if they act in ways seen as stupid or aggressive, it's because they're the product of an equally ignorant and aggressive society that's placed them on the street. They can't engage themselves critically in any way except to provide basice needs, which often necessitates crime. The city offers no escape for people on the streets, not even a bed.

most homeless in Eugene are trash. you just interviewed the few that aren't. most just sit there and smoke pot or drink all day.
Whether they are addicted, mentally disabled, or just dealing with really difficult circumstances, no human being is trash. No one chooses that life purposefully, but it's just easier sometimes to try to accept what you feel is your limits. Next time you see an old homeless guy holding up a cardboard sign and looking like he hasn't had a bath in weeks, really look at him. He has totally given up on himself. What road did he travel? Try not to be so judgemental...
