look ahead here too guys. Like the congressman said, these CFL contains mercury. Now there will be lots of broken bulbs by mere human error, and un proper disposal due to uninformed ignorance, and so our water supply will go into a red alert of toxicity after about 8-10 years. And by this time, he who controls the clean water supply will be king. Water will be worth more than money pretty soon.

I am Pro-Choice concerning LIGHTBULBS! I am a free, independant, american woman, who can buy and choose whatever light bulb I want. Congress is usurping their authority. So what else is new?

Haha! If they try to enforce it, I hope the American people will speak up and put a stop to it. It's so ridiculous it makes me laugh. I hate those CLF lightbulbs; they take so long just to turn on. They also produce an ugly white instead of yellow glow and often produce a buzzing noise, emit UV rays, and contain mercury. In my opinion the 25% or so savings in power is not worth the several downsides. They're only practical in industrial and some, but not all, commercial settings.

You're not alone elitebanktranny, in Australia we also have a self righteous, finger pointing socialist government doing the same thing with these stupid light bulbs and hopping on EVERY 'Green' bandwagon agenda no matter how idiotic it is.

CFL over heating may accur in base up and enclosed fixture. Burn out faster using a dimmers if dimmable CFL. Cant use some CFL`s on timer motion ,light sensor switches CFL light output false you have to go up one more wattage to get true retrofit light. Cost of returning under warrenty more than cost of CFL. LED better but at a cost of $10 to $50 a light $500 to $1000 for a small home.YES I do have many CFL`s in my home after tweaking each of 25 CFL light applications using a light meter.

Now if he is going to use THE CONSTITUTION BOOK method, then perhaps he should use it towards many other things:

The Patriot Act, The Federal Reserve, The War on Terror....

Just something to think about...
