This is my video tutorial of how to use a prefold cloth diaper with cover without the use of pins or a snappi. Like I say in the video, I really don't reccomend this method because as the baby moves around more and more, the diaper will shift and you will get blowouts. But in a pinch it will do better than a simple tri-fold.

Actually, once my baby started on solids and his poop became more solid - I ditched the snappi's and went to using just prefolds with covers. No problems at all. However, It's much faster if you simply fold the prefold into thirds and tuck it into that pocket at the front of the cover. No need to flare out back and front because you're not securing the prefold that way. It stays in place just fine even with my baby crawling, climbing, and running around.
Hi! I'm planning to cloth diaper and I like this method. Would it be possible to put a piece of velcro on the top front & top back of the cover and on the top front & top back of the diaper to hold it in place?
Sure, that's totally possible. But one of the big plusses to prefolds is that they will fit for so long because you can fold them to fit any size baby. As soon as you add velcro to the front, they aren't one size anymore.
