This is a tutorial on how to use Elliot Haughin's Twitter API for Codeigniter. You can grab the API from his site at http://www.haughin.com/code/twitter/

The tutorial shows how to download the library, install it in your CI project, create a Twitter application, populate the consumer key's/secrets in the config file and execute the tweet_test function.

I plan on doing a couple more videos following on from this which will show how to use Twitter authentication to create a user on your site and allow the user to authenticate from then on using their Twitter account.

  • absolutely splendid tutorial... would love to see more of this (like you mentioned @ the end).

also, just a small suggestion / tip... it can often be helpful to demo your site before starting the tutorial. Just to show the viewers where you are going with the tutorial. Personally, I think it can actually help improve viewer understanding when they have a clear idea before hand, as to what will be accomplished via this tutorial.

    Great vid !!!

  • @WikiPeoples Hi mate. Thanks for your comment! Can't believe you have just described one of my tutorials as "absolutely splendid" but i'll take it!

I am in the process of uploading parts 2, 3, and 4 of this series and that will be it.

I agree you idea about showing the end result is good but I didn't have an end result when doing the tutorials... kinda just building it on the fly! :( Sorry!
