Buffalo Springfield was a short-lived but influential folk rock group that served as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina. In November 1966, Stills composed his landmark song, "For What It's Worth" after witnessing questionable police actions against crowds of young people who had gathered on the Sunset Strip. The song was recorded in December, and by March 1967, the Buffalo Springfield had a Top Ten Hit.

  • A unique-sounding song for the times ... great cover!!

btw Messina & Furay went on to form Poco - a much under-rated country/rock group.

Although the line-up has changed frequently over the decades (only one? near-original member left) they are still performing today.

  • @julanenova - Ah, you know your rock genealogy. I think RIchie is about 70 now. Friends have seen them perform over th last couple of years. I hope to record Bad Weather one of these days and would really like to do one of the last hits Call It Love but can't find a backing track for it. Thank you much for your comments. Did you happen to subscribe? Regards, Howard

  • I just know a bit about Poco because they are my favourite country/rock band, going back a few decades. Will be looking forward to hearing your Poco covers .. I hope to do a couple more myself (although I don't have such a great voice).
