I put this on as a thanks to all the folks who put their cakes online for the novices to look at and gets some hints on how to make a specialty cake. We did not want to spend the money on having this kind of cake done so me and my wife decided to try ourselves. Youtube posts were a life saver.

  • Anybody can do this. It just takes a ton of time and trial and error. People post things all the time on here that give great tips. I am about the least artistic person ever, but I can follow directions and with fondant whatever you do generally looks pretty professional. Good luck with it.

  • You have all you need right here in youtube world :-) I youtubed how to make my own fondant out of marshmallow, then I used Wilton brand food coloring and mix in the color. The I froze the cakes. I youtubed how to make butter cream icing, how to spread fondant and then I just did it. The lines on the yellow are with a food color pin that you can get anywhere. The bed is a loaf cake covered in fondant. The bed headboard was from several bars of Hersheys melted, sculpted and then frozen.
