  • Hey .....i have a car like that....my engine is the 400/6.6L V8....and i did some mods on it...like dif intake...750 cfm carb and all that....what did u change cuz u got one hell of a nice car...and engine sounds great!!! ill wait for an answer

  • 428 + .030, 9.51 CR, Crower solid falt tappet 246/252 @ .050, 670s ported to flow 247 CFM @ .550", RPM intake with Q-Jet, Hooker Super Comp headers, 3" X-pipe. Trans was a TH400 with 10" 3000 stall Continental converter, 3.42 gear.

  • Typos: flat tappet and the cam duration s/b 247/252 @ .050.

  • pontiac never made a big block

  • That is correct. Many people don't realize that the external dimensions from the 287-455s were all the same.

  • This is a perfect example of that a 400-inch Pontiac engine can do.

  • The car had a 428 in it at the time with a solid lifter cam. Shifted it at 6200 RPM.

  • Brings a tear to my eye.

    No sweeter sound on earth.

  • @Knightnwhite475 Great comment! My dad still talks about his 66 goat. The only time I see him smile. He says these new cars are toasters with wheels on them. I went to go see a 66 with him once, a friend I worked with had one. He was cool enough to let my dad take it for a spin. My dad had tears in his eyes. You are correct sir, these cars got into your soul.

  • I am glad to know there was no Chevrolet engine involved in the making of this video.

  • I grew up with this car... LOL!

  • this is what I drove to high school, everyday, for years, cream yellow, black top, his hers shift, special edition engine, super nice, perfect condition and my insane sister wrecked it, I can drive a car like this, but she is just an idiot, that car was so freakin fast, no guy in Miami in the early 70's could catch me on US Hwy 1, every weekend, was race time, and I always won, awesome car, the best ever..

  • Nice!

Have you heard the new GTO song by Bad City 'Take Me For A Ride'?

  • @Knightnwhite475 well said sir...

  • Damn that was hardcore when he was hoverin at about 3k and then STOMPED on it. Prolly broke the cameraman's neck haha

  • @biscaynenick

i believe what your saying because my GTO has and probably always will leak in through the back window and vent windows up front on the doors. rockers are gone trunk was gone lower quarters lower doors and lower fenders have all had patch work in the past. see back then cars werent expected to last very long, they were built to be fast for the drag strip from the factory. fast and long lasting doesnt usually go hand in hand.but i completely agree with the bodys though. mostly junk

  • Whats "incredible" is how the the windows on most GMs 65 and later leaked right out of the factory. You should read some of the old TSBs from the 60's. A truly "Incredible" Detroit automobile would have had a galvaized body and frame. Chevrolet chose to galvanize the rockers only on 65-70 B-Bodys. What a fuckin joke !!! As the trunks poured in water, Cast iron top rings went at 60k , Motor mounts separated, and yanked the throttle wide open, you where lucky to get 5 years out of a set of fenders
