Looking at radio communication devices of the future from the past, Diana Eng thought it would be fun to have a Star Trek Original Series Bluetooth communicator for a cell phone. She worked with Dave Clausen to hack one together from a toy Star Trek communicator, a Bluetooth module, and a microcontroller. Look for directions to build your own: http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/11/star_trek_bluetooth_communicator.html

  • Oh boy! Hot chick, great gadget and show you how. What more could you geeky bastards ask for????

  • Oh, but have it only cal one person when activated

  • Now do that with a tng communicator!

  • "Built with him" means she got his sandwich while he built it.

  • Patronizing? What a jerk. Sorry she upset your delicate sensitivities, asshole.

  • OK, do you have a way to convert a communicator into a walkie talkie set using a set of the world's smallest walkie talkies. these talkies are about the size of a grape and come in a set of two. This would be a cool project. the range is only 150 feet, but there must be a way to boost the signal. Anyway, i'm tempted to try it even though i can't find any help on the net. There would be plenty of room to have a larger internal antenna.

  • Let her smile Mr Scrooge. :P

  • Sorry, but I find her a little patronizing ! OK, she is cute, but she is too smiley! I know she is still very young, so hopefully she will treat us more like adults than children in later videos. But, she is still quite knowledgeable, and you can tell she enjoys what she does. Keep it up Diana, but please, stop being so patronizing!

  • were can you get the parts for it some times people do not tell you they want to keep it for them self.
