We tool around the roads outside our offices in Ann Arbor in the 2008 Volkswagen R32. Returning to our desks the next day was disappointing to say the least.

  • I drive a Modded GTI and if i had the money i would buy the R32....just pure sex exhaust note, more classy looking and better linear power band. I love my GTI buy the R32 is the ultimate mass produced VW period.

  • the only people who say "Beautiful sound but not beautiful enough to be 10k more than my gti that I could chip for $500 and be just as fast" are the people who cant afford the R32!

There is no competion the R32 is the badgers nadgers!

Twin turbo the r32 + Haldex controller + Milltech etc etc = PERFECTION. If you dont do all this, it is still a much better car than the gti.

lol. dude a twin turbo kit is atleast 25k from HPA. not a cheap or easy mod as you seem to be suggesting it is

  • Darnnnnnnnn This video makes me want to go out and drive my .:R. Very nice video editing, Loved it

  • holy shit, your grammar is horrible.

wayt? using weigh instead of way and vice versa? good god someone get this man a dictionary!

  • I own a 2008 GTI and have driven an 2008R32. I enjoy both cars but the R32 has incredible grip in all conditions. Have gone through 2 winters in northeast Ohio in the GTI with no problems on all season tires. Both cars have similar performance but are slightly different animals and great toys! And that exhaust note on the R32! GRRRR!!

  • It's all relative

  • no, I definitely meant "way"... and I was overexagerating, by the weigh, on the wayt of the car. And an ice/snow event is definitely one of those EXTREMELY rare events where I would NEED awd. of course I would get smoked. it's fucking ICE..or snow.

  • GTI's are good handling cars, but R32's don't "way" (I think you meant weigh) 2 tons. And...if you need a lesson on the advantages of AWD, bring yer butt up to the upper midwest in January after an ice/snow event. I'll call for a tow truck for your ditched GTI from the toasty heated seat of my R32 as I blow past.

  • Weird, I thought R32's had ALL wheel drive. Plus, that doesn't mean anything when you way 2 tons. And how many instances have you had in your life where you actually NEEDED awd? I'm sure it's not many. My GTI corners very well btw.

  • yeah but you wont have that 4 wheel drive for added stability and traction around those sharp corners.
