AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- A man charged in connection with the shooting of a 3-year-old girl faces a judge this morning.Cordero Warren is the boyfriend of the young victim's mother, Ebony McDavis. Right now, Warren faces tampering with evidence charges in connection with the shooting. In court today, Warren's attorney asked Judge Bill Mallory for a low bond, which led to a dramatic exchange. Warren's attorney also implied the 3-year-old may have shot herself. Judge Mallory ordered a $20,000 bond for Warren.Leah Johnson continues to recover from her bullet wound. Police say her mother lied to investigators about what happened. McDavis told police Leah was shot earlier this week while they were taking out the garbage. But investigators say the child was shot when a gun Warren was handling accidentally fired. Police say shots fired nearby helped McDavis create a cover story.McDavis was in court facing falsification charges. She is being held on a $10,000 straight bond.
