100lb Jew Fish Boca Grande

Another Boca Grande Jew fish around 100lbs, This was me fighting the fish with a Star 80-130lb class rod, Shimano Tyrnos 30 reel (with drag max out), with 200lb Power Pro, 480lb Clabe leader and a 20/0 Circle hook. Using a live mullet about 14" long. And of course my wheel man James driving the boat and taking video. O-yeah and at 1:15 in the video my shirt gets hooked and a dang lure, until I ripped it out.

Its a Tyrnos 50 on a 130lb Class Star B130DDHC with 500lb mono with a 20/0 works like a charm. I biggest we have caught was a 6'4" Jewfish which prob weight over 350

nice! i just got a tyrnos 20 reel for balloning and mulloway from the canavorn jetty Wa Perth. btw in aus we call them cod.

Excellent video, I got here searching for Tyrnos, looks like it packs a punch. I read your other comment abour having the spool half-way filled for more drag.

@14072GINY what no no no they shoulda killed that jew fish but there were peaple around they should make a jew fish open season because all they do is eat all the other fish n just ruin reefs and places for spearfishing

God I love it I go to Boca Grande all the time. That is a pretty small jewfish considering they get over 600 lbs Nice catch though for sure.
