Okay, Saya was a bad example for a Japanese character because she's half monster (chiropteran). But you get the point I'm making with those images.

Also- please don't swear at or say nasty things to each other in the comments. I can disable the comments, you know. And by the way, this goes for both people who support and disagree with the video. For those who agree with me; please don't make us look bad. ^^;;;;; And for those who disagree, at least be respectful.

I promised to make it, and it's here. I present to you: my cynical criticism of the casting choices for The Last Airbender.

For anyone who can't tell, this is almost completely sarcasm. I feel the need to say this because I know I'm going to get at least 10 comments asking why I'm criticizing racebending. I'm not. It's all sarcasm, trust me. ^^

Unlike my Zutara Logic parody series, this video contains contributions from a number of other people on youtube, livejournal, and deviantart. Some of them you might know quite well. =) Look at the credits at the end of the video to see the full list of people who helped me out. If for some reason you contributed and I forgot to include you in the credits, please let me know so I can fix the mistake!! ^^;

Needless to say, I encourage anyone who feels this is wrong to boycott the film. Watch Avatar, the animated series we love, but don't give Paramount your money for the live action movie. Save ten dollars or see another movie.

And also, if you don't agree with me, feel free to watch the video and leave a nasty comment. I couldn't care less, really. Why on earth you'd spend ten minutes of your life watching something that you thought was pointless is beyond me, but feel free to watch. That's all. ^_^;;

But I agree totoally with everything you said in this video. I'm a film student myself and when I saw the cast for Avatar my jaw literally droped. Since then my friends and I have been working on a fan creation of Avatar. It's on the back burner because of school but come this summer we should be able to film and put it out on youtube (hopefully lol). And I can assure you that everyone in our cast looks like the original characters I made dead sure of that ;)

I would have loved to have done something like that myself but I don't have the resources or equipment or skill to do it, hehe. Keep me updated once you get started. =)

I think they should have just stuck to what the characters actually looked like.... And used the correct names for the characters..... Then maybe it wouldn't have sucked so much.

i literally CRIED after watching the last airbender. WHY?! Why ruin such a beautiful series, M Night Shylaman?! Me and my brother grew up watching this epic show and this series was a big part of my childhood. The movie was horrible and boring. The only good things were the effects. sometimes i pray that someone else will redo this movie. and it's not only the cast that sucked. the whole thing was lacking excitement. plus, how would you like it if they casted Harry Potter with black people?

i loled at the end, cus if you watch the commentary on the episode, the writers put that in at the end as a refrence to the movie

the sad thing is that m night shayamalan isn't even listening to the complaints from the fans. and at least pick actors that can be funny and act better. i know i'm spamming but really, i am UPSET. i have watched the series for about, what, 5, 6 years? and i can't believe that after the uproar that came with the first movie, he's making a second and third movie, too. at least there's going to be a new series of the cartoon. the creators are probably trying to salvage what's left.
