Mini Rover 125 from Pitsterpro USA Motortoys LLC first spring ride. This little Z50 clone, as you can see, is a very nice Chinese remake of the very popular Honda Z50 or Monkey Bike. It is very fast and starts with ease, shifts well and plenty of power. As you can see in the video it has no trouble getting me up the small hill. On the first video I explain the features of this little bike so will not do that again. Any comments or suggestions are accepted and appreciated.

  • I know it has California exhaust requirements. To be sure you need to call the folks at Pitster Pro. They will be able to couch you on how to get it registered.

  • i have 3 Monkey bikes and 2 of them are custom one has 22 hp and the other 1 has 19.5 hp both with Takegawa engines 2 if you look at my vids u will see how much work we have done and we are also getting the 2 customs licensed on the road

  • That sounds interesting. That seems like a lot of HP for the small bikes. I think mine are no more than 10 of 11 HP but not sure will check (so fast they scare me on that small wheel base).

  • Thanks for your videos!

I have a couple questions about the Mini-Rover..

Do you feel there is a need to reassemble the bike loc-titing the nuts and bolts?

What would you say is the max "cruising" speed? I would like to go 40MPH for some trips.

Do you think there is room to bungee a 12-pack on the luggage rack?

Is the motor the same as the other Pitster street-retros? Like could you replace it with a crf50 motor?

  • I will try to answer:

I have not noticed any problems with the bolts on this model, I have a Classic from Pitsterpro (CT70 Clone) and no problems.

This little bike is still in the break in mode but I had it up to 40. My other 125 goes 65mph and will cruse all day at 40.

May need a flat board on the carrier to make it a little bigger.

An improved version of the same motor. Runs very well would not replace it, would effect speed and “street legal” designation.

  • This is actually a Skyteam Skybongo, a copy of the Honda Gorilla (bigger tank and different seat than the Monkey). It has 8 HP and gets up to 55 mph if you change the stock 15 tooth front sprocket to a 16 tooth one. (Mine came with 10" tires though.) In my opinion 45 mph is the perfect speed to cruise with this thing (if you change the front sprocket).

  • I am thinking of getting one this spring. I already have mini 50cc chopper but it not street legal. How is the ground clearance? My 50cc chopper keeps scraping the pavement on a sharp turn.

  • how's the steel quality in the frame, forks, wheels and drive chain? How's it feel for handling at 40mph and above? Are the engines built by Lifan? - I'm really ignorant on bikes and want something fun which steers/stops and can be licensed - best, Freddy

  • is mini rover is legal in california?

  • Thanks for posting this. Pretty cool bike!

  • Thanks for the only videos of the Mini Rover on youtube, and answering my questions! I think I will have to get two of these, one for me and one to ride with friends so that they see how cool it is and get their own :P Maybe a Mini Rover and a Sherpa
