Julida Polka - Palmer Hughes Prep Accordion Course, Book 2B, Page 4 for Accordion Accordéon Acordeón Akkordeon Akordeon Harmonika Fisarmonica Acordeão Акордеон Аккордеон Accordian

This book, called the "Prep Course", is a supplement to the regular Palmer Hughes course.

In this video I have changed the audio recording system again. This time is seems to have a more mellow sound.

  • How can you not love the guy, he plays an accordion! Nice vid mate.

  • @Astronesthes - Thanks for the encouragement.

  • Hi Leon, I'm here at this song now and listening once again to the tune before I get going with it. Lovely to have you here so I can get the song in my mind first. Just about finished with La Spagnola. Are you keeping your Hohner since you got the new One?

  • I'm happy to help you by posting my videos. I agree that learning a piece is much easier after you see someone else play it.

I am trying to sell my Hohner on eBay, but no response yet. The two instruments are very different in physical feel, especially the bellows response. Already my bellows strategy is changing on previous pieces. I don't think I have sufficient talent to make good use of both instruments. Plus I can't really afford to keep two instruments.

  • Good job! It seems to me this is perhaps one of the most fluid pieces that I have seen you play thus far. And it sounds really good too! I wish I had the sheet music for this piece but though I am following the Palmer-Hughes course myself I do not have the prep course books. I should probably get them for added practice pieces!

  • Thank you for the positive feedback. Yes, I think the prep course books are worth getting. They appear often on eBay.

  • I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you for the kind comment about my playing.

  • Very nice piece . You are a great player thanks for posting it.

  • Thanks for the positive feedback. The bass line uses the standard alternating bass pattern. So, for example in the tonic chord (I) it's C bass note button, C Major chord button, G bass note button, then C Major chord button again. Or at least that is what I was supposed to play. The title of the piece specifies that it is an exercise in "double notes". Hence the use of treble harmonies in the second part. The Palmer Hughes Prep Book 2B appears often on eBay.
