  • Is replacing an ipod nano 4th generation click wheel the same thing? Or should I do anything different?

  • @TechGrapple The 4th generation is very different from the 2nd generation. Please use a video for the 4th generation, which we do have posted under our account. There are certain similarities but the ribbon cables are going to be the major difference, and since they are so thin you would not want to tear them.

  • HELP. someone message me, im at the "pull up the metal bracket around the usb port" and it just wont come off around the ribbon area. but i felt the ribbon pop. so im confused.

  • @JohnnyDeppIsMyBoo the bracket around the USB port may be dirty though I would assume there is still a screw installed and that is why it will not come out. Follow the metal bracket to ensure that all screws are removed, even the one below the headphone jack (inside). Generally this will come out with very little pressure needed, though if you have dents or dings (or the port is dirty) then it makes the process a bit harder. I do apologize that we had not responded earlier, hope this helps.

  • Just fixed mine. Your vid helped a lot. Thanks for posting

  • @mlabre01 Glad we could help!

  • @SSEmb I figured out what went wrong. The center button has plastic "nipples" on the back. These need to be lined up with the holes in the metal back plate or you will get the results I described above. Works great now, thanks.

  • What type of adhesive should I apply to the mounting plate?

  • I did this repair and noticed some, non-salvagable, rubber pieces on the click wheel. When I put it all back together, it fit quite tight and the menu button does not work and the center button has pressure on it (from the tight fit), making it seem in the constant pressed position without actually being depressed or down. I tried the clear method of pressing the menu and center button together and nothing happens. Is this because those rubber pieces are missing? Any insight would be appreciated

  • Awesome lol now I can fix a iPod or change the case lol sinscribe to me and them 8D

  • I wish to report one mistake i your video in 1:29s. You must first unscrew little screw below the headphone jack and AFTER that pool up metal bracket. In your video is vice versa.

  • @pattyaaron Same here i need one.

Although, my top part is dented for the case how can i fix it?? Because the top left and right corners are dented in a bit... If i would change the case how much is it?

I would want a case and a top bezel plastic piece.

I'm sure this costs more than is needed... -.- for the money i am willing to spend.
