  • Such a nice kitty! I'm going to have to give my monster a pill today for the first time. He's a very wicked cat and I doubt if one of us will survive the ordeal.

  • Guess, you shouldn't expect your cat to talk to you for the next few days :)

  • I have found that it helps to 1) put it all the way to the back of his throat, and 2) have an eyedropper and warm water ready to wash it down

  • You should remember to check inside her cheeks, too. Sometimes my cat swallows but theyre hidden in his cheek ;)

  • wow that s a nice cat. I really have to force her and she gets very mad.

  • how about mixing the pill in their food?

  • if you can ope the cats mouth wide enough then try to place the pill or feed right at the back they will swallow straight away without the need to rub their chin.

in fact the pill shouldn't even touch their mouth or tongue if doen properly.

  • My mother once told me that she read that even though your cat may fight you when you give them their medicine, that they also sense that you're doing it to help them.

  • You are way too slow and go to him from the wrong side.

Take his head from behind with one hand. force the mouth open with the same hand and place the pill on the back of the mouth with the other hand. The secret here is speed. quickly and decisively. never let the cat discover what happend. destract him with food or something. I have even used it on very agresive cats too. If you place the pill right he cant do anything but swallow. Yours are probably on the tongue there :-)

  • If you have a water syringe just toss the pill in and follow it with a wash of water.

    They can't help but swallow. : )
