Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls

  • 1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the LOVE of GOD perfected:

Love is not an emotion, love is action. Keeping the word and HIS commandments the love of GOD is perfected.

JESUS is GOD, to get a sense of the SAVIOUR, you have to know his word. (read the old testament)

  • love is the key, relentless, passionate, unflinching love. perfect love drives out fear. theology is nothing without acts of love, random or planned, and they can be done my anyone, at any time, whatever their professed faith. this is all we are called to do, just to love with everything that we have. and when we screw up, to dust ourselves down and try again. nothing else matters. love is everything.

  • But the BIBLE also tells you to hate evil.

  • ...and the response to 'hating evil' (or deploring injustice, or being shocked by inequality) should be to love all the more and to refuse to be reduced to fear.

  • Where do you get your logic?

  • please these things are half our own doing and the other half has been happening for hunderd or even thousandes of years.

Try not to explain something that is obvius with a book that is incomplete, subjectified, censorred and more then 2000 years old.

  • Just because it's been going on for years doesn't make it right. (ie slaver, pedophilia, rape)

  • what do you think the 'abomination of desolation' of Matthew 24:15 is?

as it was the last sign to the Israelites in Judea... will it not be the last sign in our time?

  • word sound and powerrrrrrrrrr!!!!

  • I don't say it's right i say it's BS

  • none of us truly have the love thing perfected, but the potential to love and be loved is a gift given to each of us and i think we have to throw ourselves into love, to live it as best we can and trust that we'll be carried by the One who loves us.

  • all the things that often reduce normal human beings like us to anger or fear he just rose above. yes, we're told he overturned the tables in the temple in anger - because people were making a fast buck out of religion, but i believe he was motivated by a desire to see people's true God-given identity flourish = because of his deep, unceasing love for them - including the people who were misusing the temple.

  • well, common sense partly! i don't want to pretend to know jesus' mind, but it seems to me that he just loved, non-stop, in the face of aggression and judgementalism, in the face of people who thought he was an idiot, or a threat to their positions of power, in the face of poverty.
