This mad dog coll, he is one crazy guy, he enjoys shooting up people, way back in the sixties; gangsters used him to kill their rivals, he was sent by Don Maranzano to kill Lucky Luchiano but then he went and killed Luchiano's wife instead thinking it was Lucky Luchiano when it wasn't.

Look at 10:08 in this movie and you'll see Mad Dog Coll's gun accidentally slide down inside his pants. The other actor almost doesn't recover. If you listen carefully, I believe you can hear it clunk down on the floor. Too funny!

just reading the book at the moment, mad story, found it in the library. never heard of the man until now, being irish find it strange that there hasnt been any coverage of him in ireland.

Yeah, that's a bummer that all of "Mad Dog Coll" is not available here at youtube. But I've noticed that Turner Classic Movies shows it ever few months or so. No classic, but it's got a fascinating cast & stays pretty interesting, in spite of its low budget. And of course John Chandler rips up the scream in the title role!

Clue Calager was a good actor...but John Davis Chandler gave a much more sinister intrepretation of this real life gangster (Mad Dog Coll) in the 1961 movie of the same name. Reportedly the real life Coll was a borderline psychopath who had absolutely no regard for human life. The world was MUCH better off when he was liquidated by fellow nogoodniks!
