The c2c drive was equal parts insane and inspired - a trifecta triumph of crackpot concept, lunatic overplanning, and madcap execution. By that reckoning, it can safely be said we absolutely had the right people for the job. It is beyond argument that we had the right CAR for the job. Thank you, BMW, for a terrific machine.

@larrydav1d Just the cost of gas-- got about 20 miles per gallon, so during the 2360 mile trip we consumed about 115 gallons. Of course the car had to be driven round trip, so about 230 gallons were used all together. Then too there were hotel rooms at both ends of the journey and a plentiful junk food along the way...

@DiligentPursuit Ah with gas prices these days, not sure which would cost more, flying there vs. gas/tolls/etc. But without the 36hr journey of a lifetime though! My car unfortunately gets 12-14 mpg :O

@larrydav1d Hmm. With mileage like that, you probably have a car that can do the trip in considerably under 36 hours. The record for the traditional Canonball Route is 31hours 4minutes.
