If you can point me in the right direction to the shop that sells video cameras for £2000 that you can change lenses on , get great dop , fantastic colours , progressive frame filming etc etc please do let me know,

hmm...I still prefer Sony TG1...

How would one get sound on board a still camera like this? I do not see an XRL input anywhere on it?
-
then I would say you're probably not very interested in video period...otherwise you'd know why this camera is damn good for video....watch any Phillip Bloom or Vincent Laforet examples with it

buying a video camera with equivalent image quality would be:
HVX + 35mm adapter = $4000 + $2000 > so you're looking around $6000 minimum.
VS
5D MKII with a prime lens ~$3000
Other advantages = small size. You'll need 10 mins to set up a HD cam with adapter, MKII you just click and shoot even in small space
In the right hands you can get videos that would come close to image quality of Red One video camera (which is 7 times more expensive, and no I didnt same SAME quality as Red but CLOSE :)

video cameras with the same quality as this are indeed much more expensive, and another benefit these dslr's have is a larger sensor compared to 'regular' hd videocameras..

@iserious can't agree more with you, very well said. after all, it is a photo camera, one of the best on the market.

The 5D Mark II is NOT a "video camera". It's a stills camera that 'can' shoot (seemingly really good quality) video. I don't get why everyone's so hyped over its video capabilities. If what you want is a high-quality video camera, then buy just that.
jennifer is my kind of geek :)

because the only video Camera that can do these kind of things (with exchangeable lenses etc... are far more expensive than this.
