http://www.playbackups.com/Playstation3-xbox-360-repair-repairs-manchester-bg... Complete strp down and reflow of solder on PS3 GPU and CPU chips using the latest Infrared technology. This method is the only method recommended by Sony to cure the YLOD. All other methods of reflowing the solder on these chips are considered by Sony to be incorrect.

  • IS THIS PERMANENT

  • @garavrocks1234 Unfortunately there is no 'PERMENANT' fix. The solder under the GPU cracks due to the high temperature that the PS3 runs at. However well repaired, the problem will return. Shame on Sony for not owning up to this design problem.

  • fix the ylod & 2 weeks later it happen again. now its say its too hot and turn it off but i did for 12 hrs and its still saying the same thing. stay on for about 5 min and the infor about its being to hot and it shut off, back to the YLOD. is my ps3 gone? what do i need to do? please help. thanks

  • Use Artic Silver on the CPU and GPU.

  • What temperature does it need to be and for how long?

  • 220 degrees celcius. Long enough for it to reconnect the broken connections.

  • @SteveSpy1967 they did it on purpose so u buy a new one or repair it and pay £130

  • @iNowmad Lift the ps3 with your right hand. Then lift the lid of the nearest trash can with your left hand. Apply force in a downward thrust, smashing the ps3 against the bottom of the trash can. Then get a job and put together a high end gaming pc that will last you 6+ years with no issues.

  • Can you put it in 220 degrees celcius without taking it apart? And does it happen from playing to much? My house is always really cold, and ive had it over a year.
