If ya sit over the front truck, ya can grab the nose of yer board with yer weak hand, use yer strong hand on the back to brace yer self up, so you can bend yer knees up and use the whole bottom of yer shoes fer braking. Used ta glue a hunk of old tire on the sole ta make em last.
