Bath is a must see on any trip to the UK, not only for the Roman Bathhouse which was rebuilt as an open bath unlike the covered bathhouse the Romans had built. So as the water is now green with algae in Roman times it was clear. The story told us while we were there is that a Georgian houses like those in the rest of Bath were built on top of the baths, but when someone complained of water in their basement a plumber who found stair leading to a Roman pool and the Government had his house torn down and the Roman bath rebuilt.
