This video is dedicated to the memory of a great New Jersey Atheist activist, Lance M. Wilhelm.

Update: Spiro's had to close down because of a shooting that took place in the street in front of the club. Some rappers arrived after closing and demanded to be allowed to perform. When the club refused, the rappers started shooting people in the street.

The good news: What was once a dangerous hip hop bar will soon re-open as a live music venue.

When I watch "Austin City Limits" on PBS, where is that staged?

electricrobot - Many people think that Austin City Limits is taped outside, with the Austin skyline in the background. Actually it's taped on one of the upper levels of the local Public Broadcasting Service station, KLRU tv. That building is on Guadalupe St. aka "The Drag" next to the University of Texas campus, in north central Austin. It's within walking distance of several fine brew pubs. :o)

I moved from West Lake last April. I LOVE AUSTIN! It's so great to get away from the B.B. and live in a place like Austin. So laid back.
