  • I may be a strong Christian but I definately am not one of those to judge one's other beliefs. I find it very interesting watching these videos of yours and learning more about your beliefs and Melody's :)

  • @smileyluv Thanks very much.:)

  • I knew I was agnostic at 8, when I was told god was personal and knowable and I said where. I did not embrace atheism until after 9/11. I had searched for belief for 20 years, and increased my search for faith after 9/11. Six months later I embraced atheism.

  • @atheistrepublican I must say it's refreshing to see the words atheist and republican next to one another.:) It's also refreshing to hear that 9/11 actually lead to you becoming an atheist. Most of the country seemed to go the other way after that happened.

  • I knew I was an atheist at around 7-8 years old when, after watching a series of Old Testament movies and Greek mythological movies (you know the ones), I realized that the only reason why one was 'real' and the other was a 'myth' was solely determined by how many people followed it at that particular moment.

Ofcourse I've always been an atheist, despite a religious family and going to a catholic school I've never even remotely thought that anything of that nature was authentic.

  • @TheIslammiracle That was very wise of you for someone so young. I just remember watching that kind of stuff going "Cool! Snakes for hair!" It does seem to hold true, most of the time that, if it doesn't stick when you're a child , it never will.

  • @ClockNumerology No, that story is not valid. (Logic malfunction.) It will continue to LACK validity until it has a shred of supporting evidence.

  • @BigAtheist I wish I had caught on as early as you did. I just let it all go over my head when I was that age; at least that meant that none of it stuck.

  • Earliest memory (2nd Grade) is where I equated God with Superman i.e. fiction. Even though raised catholic never believed in a god and related christian mythology. for me it wasn't science or logic or the villainy of religion ,,,it just never was believable

  • @Jchar1027 I was much the same way, until I understood what atheism really is and the true nature of belief. I, personally, think that belief is overrated, since it means adhering to an idea in the absence of full knowledge and without substantial evidence.
