  • Hey man got a question. How hard was the swap and what v8 did you drop in the truck? I have a 94 regular cab as well thats 2wd and has the 3.9 in it but want to swap in a v8. Also how did you change out the rear end sense the trucks do not have a posi rearend? Thanks. If you could just send me a message with any info that might help.

  • @R6carter i dropped in a 1995 5.2/318 from a donor truck...since you have a 3.9 in yours it will swap no problem but it has to be a 94-95 engine/harness/ecu... all the mounts are the same...the radiator and fuel pump are the same...i also did take the sure grip rear end and the heavy duty 5 speed transmission from the donor truck they also bolted right in...if you are gonna do the swap get a donor truck with the engine trans and sure grip rear its the best way to do it

  • nice man i got a 91 swb dakota 4cl 5spd and im putting a 360 in it, were did you get your beelhouseing? i know the made some dakotas v8 5spd but there hard to find, p.s NICE TRUCK

  • i got some bad news for you man...the frame where the engine bolts in is differnt on the 4cyl dakota....when i was looking for a clean body i had to find a V6 so it would be an easy swap...i started with pretty much the same truck but it was all rotted out...so i just did a drivetrain swap...im not saying its impossible...its just not as straightforward....

HELP PLZ???
