This is why I never felt comfortable with the Catholic church. Living in sin is just too much and the way those early church leaders lived! Kind of ironic that Jeremy Irons ended up playing the part of a Borgia pope.

I have been officially bowled over by Diana, her work is incredible and I can't wait to see the rest of this series!

I have been bowled over by Diana Quick, she is unbelievable and I can't wait to see this whole series!

Whoa. Diana Quick chews the scenery.

This is my favorite scene in the series; it conveys so strikingly the power and beauty of the Catholic faith, the "twitch upon the thread," etc.

Ah,the classic tortured catholic.Made to feel awful about wanting to be with the one she loves. The deadly word"SIN"The ruin of many lives.

Julia could really turn it on and off again!

Well apparently she's single now :)
Brilliant acting! Brilliant writing! The complexity of the Catholic morality is never better represented.

A really excellent bit of acting - and direction. I'm no Lady Julia, but I sure feel the way the character does here, sometimes, and Quick portrayed so well the way that sort of pain rips through you and then settles in, becoming a more quiet despair.
