(And I had way too much fun listening in Italian while translating the French subtitles into English in my head... terribly confusing because I kept expecting to hear the singing in French, but still fun!)
OK, so Susan Graham is basically my hero. My GOD, her facial expressions... you can totally feel the anguish that Sesto is going through! What a sublime actress, and what a stunning voice. She's amazing. Thanks SO much for posting!

I'm left in tears by the end of this. Such power! such subtlety!! such immense depth of psychological dynamic tension!!! The mediation between the relative and absolute has been expressed. Oh Mozart, you left us far, far too soon.

So by this time in the opera, has Sesto tried to kill Tito? In some versions, they have it in different places. In the Ponnelle film with Troyanos, it is right before Vengo, Aspettate. In the Harnoncourt with Kasarova, it seems like it is around Dei Conservate. In here, it seems like it is after the other four (Publio, Annio, Servillia, Vitellia) come.

This is the "finale" of the first act. Afte the recitativo wil come the aria and then the "concertato" finale (5 solos and choir).
