  • If I may be so bold to chime in here, i learned my techniques with foam at a special effects company in Hollywood...you can kill two birds with one stone by eliminating both spackle and base coat by using dry-wall compound.keep a bowl of water handy and moisten your hand every time you dip it in the compound and as you spread it around with your hand.once the drywall compound dries, it gives an absolutely perfect "canvas" for your acrylic wash.
