Women's Professional Soccer celebrated the culmination of its third season at the WPS Championship presented by Citi crowning the Western New York Flash as 2011 WPS Champions. The Flash defeated the Philadelphia Independence 1-1 (5-4) in a penalty kick shootout at home - Sahlen's Stadium (Rochester, NY) - in front of the largest championship crowd in league history.
