People say I was
Quiet,
Shy,
Soft-spoken,
But in truth,
I was afraid.
Afraid of how people would see
Me.
I hated myself for being so, so,
Afraid.
I scolded myself over and over,
Telling myself I HAD to do
Something.
I tossed and turned in bed
At night,
Asking myself why I was this
Way.
I searched in my soul
For something,
A special something
Then, I saw it:
It was:
Me,
My true self.
It was:
Bold,
Different,
Tough,
Yet, affectionate.
Then, I realized,
I was no longer
Afraid.
I knew that
It would take time to
Show others this
Me
But it'll be
Worth it.
So don't doubt me!
Don't try to stop me!
For now, I am
No longer
Afraid!

the poem is something i can relate 2... part of me is quiet and shy, but the other part of me is loud and not shy... *sigh* i feel like the 2 sides are always conflicting... *sigh*

i can relate to this. people just dont know what it's like when there's world war three going on in inside you. one side telling you to speak the other holding you back and it feels like your constantly fighting with yourself
