Four of the five garage kittens are thriving, while the tabby girl whose diarrhea continues, has not been able to overcome it as her siblings have. Their humble beginnings, born in a dirty corner of a very hot garage may have been too much for her. She may not live. Meanwhile, mom tries to get some time off from the kittens, but such time off is short lived. Kittens demand their mother's attention!

  • did you fix mom and kittens

  • Of course.

  • Did the little girl pull through?

Thank you so much for doing what you do.

  • Yes, she pulled through. I fostered out four of them, so she could have more mother attention, and when they came back from foster, the four kittens were extremely ill and Linus died that night! It was inexplicable and very very sad.

  • Hi! My friend. I think that is a good idea to put away the most healthy boys for a while and then the kitty girl receives more milk and attention from mom. BTW if you decide to use the antibiotic, it's easier to give it to the mother ( 2 cc by day, at the same hour) and then the kitteh girl receives it through mom's milk. Take care that tabby girl takes a lot of milk, at least twice a day. Good luck pretty. You can do it!

  • Three of the five are really thriving, the two boys and one girl. I got pedialyte. They all had coccidia, and I can't believe any of them have survived. They have been on albon and four of the five now have brown solid stool. It's just the one little girl still sick.

  • Ha, this reminds me when my cat had kittens, the way they all pile on the mom when they want to eat. It didn't help that she weighed less than six pounds and both her kids were bigger than her even before they stopped nursing. The boy got to over fifteen pounds (he's about as big as a ragdoll) and he'd absolutely bowl her over when he got hungry. She couldn't even carry her kittens around because she was so small. She just drug them on the ground and rolled them with her paw when she got tired.

  • I was thinking of removing three of her siblings so she would get more from mom for a day.

  • Hi! when I pick up a kitteh with diarrea I give it 1/2 cc of Pediatric Amoxicillin suspension (125 mg) twice a day. It's a standard antibiotic, very simple and common in fact. Try that tabby girl gets a lot of mother's milk too. She's going to be healthy whitin days :)

  • Me, too, Velvina.
