Hey,
My friend James and I crawled into small cavities within a Physics classroom at Tawa College. James started humming, and so did I, just to be silly. The resulting effect was the resonance of our voices! Having just studied 'waves' in class, we were able to explain why this happened:
Our humming sometimes sounded at the same frequency, therefore our humming 'added' to become doubly as loud. If one of us went slightly 'out of tune', or changed our humming frequency slightly, a 'beating' or what can be descibed as a 'wa-wa-wa' effect, can be heard..
Hope there are other Physics enthusiasts out there that find this interesting too!
Our Physics teacher Mr Prestidge is the man - James and I created a complete tangent to AC/DC electricity explanations in class, and he didn't mind - he was quite interested if anything. Ha!
Beat action. Hahaha.

thats pretty cool.
ironically, ur silliness helped me better understand pitches and beats.
thanks :)
