Southern terminus of:
"THE KINGSTON FLYER"
That old NZ (Ex-NZR) iconic vintage steam passenger train ..
Rides it's rails .. once again.
&:
Now YOU can "ride" them too...

Jump ona PLANE & zoom in ..
To:
Queenstown International Airport, New Zealand.
..
Then grab a shuttle bus .. down to Kingston.
Meander around the terminus ..
Even take a stroll down to the (original):

Kingston - Lake Wakitipu "wharf" ..

Then it's back around to the main:
Kingston Railway Station

To climb "up" & grab Ur seat as it's:

ALL ABOARD...!!!!
Ding ding ding...

To then chuff majestically up the sweeping curved incline --
Onto the "TOP" of the southern hills ..
Over there -- far away -- on the true RHS of the valley.

From whence it's now a leisurely
"chuff chuff - huff puff - huff puff"
..
Across to the middle of the valley
&
Then to "run" along a moderate straight downgrade ..
To finally arrive -- into FAIRLIGHT
Where U can stretch your legs.. (on terra firma)
Take pictures of each other ..
The train -- or the tussock covered hills ..

Or simply:
Watch the loco (AB-778 or it's sister locomotive)
As it's driven around you ..
First through the pine trees
(next to the Invercargill - Queenstown Highway)
And thence through a small forrest
(over to the "original" line's formation)
Up to Fairlight Station's mainline "entrance" points
& finally:
Re-attaching onto the end of your rake of passenger carriages

Thus fully 180-degree TURNING the locomotive..
Without using a TURNTABLE ..
As it "runs" around...
On it's own self turning "triangle" trackwork
To be re-attached onto the "back end" of your "train"
Ready for the "homeward journey"...

All in all...
JUST ONE HOUR ..
Yes - just one hour -- out of your busy.?
NEW ZEALAND SOUTH SEAS .. SOUTHERN LAKES .. "HOLIDAY"

But something to be always remembered ..
As the BEST HOUR that you've ever had..
