Opening act, the Petersen Brothers (13 and 11 year-old) tore it up for 4 songs. The main band featured Double Trouble's Chris Layton, Austin legend Denny Freeman on Guitar along with Marcia Ball's lead and bass players. Marcia played 3 or 4 songs (the sound wasn't quite right, but they did get it fixed later on). Then Pinetop came out and ROCKED. He played for more than 30 minutes and did not disappoint.
Then Denny and Chris stayed on stage as the phenomenal Bill Carter and the Blame (Andy Salmon on bass and Dave Holt on lead) came out and did a blistering 90 minute set. Freeman is FANTASTIC, smooth, clean, and never overpowering. Thanks to Matt "THE MAN" Meshbane for setting us up with the seats. -- --

Just love the blues, and it does't get much better .. Hearing the great Pinetop Perkins is just awesome. I hope I get to meet him and hear him live. May he just keep on playing forever.
