As the title says... this is the substrate screensaver that came with Fedora Core 5, using KDE. By far the most interesting screensaver I've seen in Linux.

Note: To keep the video short and small, I increased the speed to maximum. I have it normally going at about 1/3 that speed, so that it slowly forms everything.

As well, due to lack of software needed, I just took the video with my digital camera's video-taking option. I also suggest you just turn the sound off, since that humming in the background is my computer tower, which happened to be right beside me at the moment.

  • This is most beautiful screensaver i have seen. I found it on OpenSUSE once. It could be easily club video wallpaper, so that ones that don't have nothing to do or watch can see this evolving - its like looking into fireplace, ocean waves or clouds. Pure relaxation.

  • wish i could get this on my windows xp

  • I can download bittorrents, ever heard of Azerus (vuse now)? It just takes windows users a looonnngggg time. I have videoes on my account.

  • Does windows outweigh the BSOD? Kernel Panic is basically the BSOD of Linux computers. I have used Linux computers for years and haven't ever had a Kernel Panic.

  • u have windows as ur operating system ? mind me asking how do u download for example bittorrent ...im totally new in linux..T.T can u make atleast a video.

  • Sience no one has decided to comment on this video for almost 2 years, I would like to be the first to formaly say that this is pretty good. But does it outweigh the Linux'es "Kernel Panic" and other problems?

  • So thats what Linux looks like... Ooooh...

  • it looks like a city

  • I gotta give that one a try...
