The biggest problem people are having when they see this trailer is a distinct lack of direction. Nothing explains what you do, or how the combat is controlled. Notch just needs to release a trailer that has some of the cards and the basic game mechanics explanation, so people can get a feel for what the game exactly is.

I, like many others, agree the palette leaves much to be desired, but it's like that because it's early in development and gameplay mechanics come before improving environment

This game just looks incredibly generic and uninteresting. Also the character artwork is not that great. It looks like it was drawn by an amateur and it really turns me off to the game in general. I agree with other people that this looks like a generic ArmorGames type of flash game or something.

I wasn't expecting Minecraft 2 by any means, but I was expecting something a bit more interesting and not so generic and badly drawn.

You guys do realize this is not even an alpha version right? Beta is coming up soon and has most likely developed way beyond this.

Well you have to take care of graphics for sure. Tons of dull empty spaces make the game look like fulltime indie. You didn't take care of making "currently empty spaces" look attractive to the gamers. Terrain that is not occupied looks plain and ugly, bar which is normaly filled with cards is a joke when you have only 2 on hand. When you design an interface you have to design it to look great nomatter the state it's currently in. Ad some damn details, you already have the cash to do it.
