I'm not sure what counts as a thing to do... perhaps a new video could explain what it is. And, although I agree that Doctor Who and QI are amazing, I think they are the only good shows in the UK (apart from stuff like Sarah Jane Adventures etc.).

if minimum wage were actually sufficient for human life, we wouldn't need to feel obliged to tip unless the service was fantastic and without looking like a jerk.

15%?! I usually go for 10% here unless they were fab.

I draw smiley faces on my check, but I make dick all for a living. My tips average at about 10% and 2% of every table's check I have to give to the restaurant whether I get tipped or not. I make 9$ an hour which is 50 cents more than minimum "Liquor servers" wage. (Regular minimum is 9.50). I can not qualify for a raise and I average 25hrs a week. It's often a difficult job and I have to take a lot of crap from people. But if tips are good it's worth it. Be awesome and make our jobs worth it :)

I'm English, I tip 10% if the service was excellent... we're tight over here

I live in England and the only place I have given tips at is the harvester (which is a rubbish resturant/pub by the way) and even than only when with my aunt and uncle do we work it out if I'm with my parents we just leave some loose change

@Andyrewluck44 Yo Andy, I like you and I'ma let you finish, but second grade is the worst place to get your arguments of all time. Of all time!
Is there a "Tipping Kills Timelords" TShirt yet? I feel like that should be a thing by now.....

I used to be a waitress, so my base is 20% or $3/plate, whichever is larger because of tip karma. But when I was a waitress I would have totally given up tips if we'd received a living wage and healthcare like they do in civilized countries. The US system sucks.
