I'm working on a game codenamed Xplore. It is in development using XNA. The objective is to explore planets and reach places never reached by any other player, and collect the treasures there.

For more information, watch my other videos, or check out the website.

Help me test out the core mechanics by downloading a very early version of the game at http://www.hufsoft.com/xplore

  • is it possible to load milkshape projects into xna?

  • I think milkshape can save to the .x file format, and XNA can load those.

  • what did you create your models with?

  • I used Blender. It is free, but really hard to use. So far all the models are just placeholder models, so I'll have to see if I can get good enough at Blender to make the real models.

  • @Ubrasaur Just wanted to revise my comment on Blender, its UI is much improved these days! :D

  • what type of colision detection are you using for the "player" and the map

    boundingBoxes? or a custom?

    looks very nice

  • I use custom written collision detection, but it uses bounding boxes. Not the BoundingBox class though. Be sure to check out my latest vid to see how far it's come!

  • nice collision detection! how have you done that? is it a boundingSphere around every object?

  • I make mine wig blender too, I made slot of stuff with blender, the pros use 4-point planes to model stuff, I have once modeled a boat with a plane, really interesting, you should watch super3boy's tutorials, that's what helped me..... Good work keep it up!!! (:

  • @Ubrasaur BLENDER IS HARD TO USE!!!!!
