@jel2003 All cities as big as Dallas, tend to have some sort of homeless population. And there are a lot of programs in Dallas to help them out.

I miss Dallas! I lived there when I was 17 in 2007, with a nice host family in a school exchange program. I miss the Cowboy's (weird sport xD) and FC Dallas, the downtown, the high school the accent and country music even the advertising of perfection and hapiness on TV (like this one). But I don't miss, FoxNews (the fav channel in my host home) and tornados (Whow can you people live with that?! It's scary!). But what I miss more is the people I knew there... some are still my friends!

@PetSplash I have yet to see a trailer park. That would be Houston or Sacramento California.

@dsindc You haven't been in Dallas lately. This video is 3 years old.
lol ! I moved here last year, and in 10 months, I've seen 2 new train stations be built, a museum, a new freeway (which will have a suspension-type bridge; not completed yet, a few large upscale apartment buildings, renovation of the Woodall Rodgers freeway, and there is currently about 3 high-rise structures being built simultaneously (don't know what they;re gonna be. Dallas IS very suburban., but it's growing FAST !

@MadameBeautiful cont...
The one thing you might like (which is what 'I' liked) is that there are palm trees EVERYWHERE in Houston.
It's reminiscent of California, or possibly Florida (never been to Florida).
If you like palm trees, you'll like Houston.
If you like somewhat better living conditions, less crime, and a job... Dallas is better. :))

@MadameBeautiful Houston is not better. I traveled there for the 1st time a month ago. Their downtown and skyline is about the same as Dallas'. It's hard to explain, but driving through the middle of the city felt like we were on a giant circuit board. Kinda lifeless, although clean. The population is double that of Dallas, but so Houston's county (Harris) is the size of the Dallas/FortWorth Metroplex. The Metroplex is almost at 7million. And Houston's over-all area is a little bit poorer.
