@krhaagen It was a GREAT show!! Especially "Religion" ... "More bass, Walter" I luved it. I saw PiL in 1982 & 1992 here as well.

@KlingKlang13 They played "Seattle" when they were here in '92. I've met John several times, he's always been really nice. I was nervous to meet him at first though :)
I even asked him if he'd autograph me. He did, I then had it tattooed on.

Lu Edmonds rocked at this show. Was very glad to catch him live again as well. As for how John is with his public I think it can be kinda hit and miss. When I met him once he was very nice. almost seemed shy and reserved at first. this was my favorite show I've caught of his so far. P.i.L. was fun in the '80s but everyone was sitting at the Moore. This show folks were dancing. The Pistols show I caught wasn't great other than the fact that I actually was seeing the Pistols!

6/26/86 The Paramount Theater. Seattle, WA
Supporting: Public Image Ltd.
Notes: This show happened in late 1986. As Green River is finishing their set, Mark tells the audience, "Stick around if you want to see what a real sellout looks like." After their set, the guys steal PiL frontman Johnny Rotten's easy chair while Andy Wood takes all of his wine. Allegedly, this all inspired Rotten to write the song Seattle.

They played it back on the 120 Minutes tour in 91 or 92.. what a let down. And where did you hear that story of eating the food? I have never heard of that

The song "Seattle" was written because Green River opened for P.i.L. and they snuck into P.i.L's dressing room, ate their food and left it in a trashed state thus out-punking 'ol John and gang. That song trashes Seattle, of course they aren't going to play it here, I knew they wouldn't. This show was actually better than when I saw them in the '80s because it was less glossy and over produced not to mention the fact that they played way more old stuff this time and people actually danced! Yay!

Lydon says he has never lied in the last 37 years. he lied last night about giving us a proper show. They didnt even play Seattle...in Seattle of all places. I had the feeling we had been cheated.
Hey guys, love the discussion. After talking to Lu Edmonds, I realized that yes, they didn't play "Seattle" and I wished I had asked him about it. But it was two solid hours of quality music - I didn't feel cheated at all. Until after the show, when a bunch of dudes hogged all of Lydon's time getting their stuff signed to sell on ebay, while most of us real fans got dissed. But the rest of the band was super-sweet. John was fine, but why stop meeting fans when you've talked to 12 out of 20?

My friend saw P.i.L. back in the '80's in D.C. and found John in the Ladie's Room wearing pyjamas, and he was out of it and/or rude and didn't pay her any mind, until she yelled at him: "move the f**k over, i gotta check my lipstick" and then he introduced himself like a proper brit gent in his jammies.
