  • Not as good as Bocelli? Where did your music education go wrong?

And no, Bocelli's voice is not shot. He just sang at Prince's Monaco's wedding

and he sounded better than ever. He is now at his peak. But his peak is not the peak of the voice 'kissed by God', Pavarotti's.

  • his sostenuto on diminuendo is uncomparable!!!

  • @thomassmile I totally agree! I've said before, it seems to me that Maestro Karajan is literally pulling every note from Pava w/his hands! I believe that Karajan and Pava were kindred souls when it came to the music--they lived and breathed the music with their very beings---not just performed it!

  • @appeace1 indeed and the big P. always respected the great Karajan, in fact, like many superior artists Pavarotti was very humble. A nice human being for sure. BTW i think the connection between pavarotti and karajan is amazing on this video

  • @thomassmile I agree! Maestro Karajan had a unique ability to "discover" singers who had huge talent and most eventually became big stars! Therefore, to be personally asked by Maestro Karajan to sing the tenor in the Requiem to be conducted by the Maestro was; according to Pava, "a great immense pleasure".

  • Karajan said he was the greatest tenor known to him ... Well I must agree with him ;)

  • If there's anything betterthan young Pavarotti I haven't heard it yet. You mention Bocelli in the same breath you must have a wooden soul to go along with your tin ear. Thats just the way it is -- seeing the great one young like this reminds you why people loved him in the first place. Sure, his career went on too long, but all is forgiven when you hear the young man sing.

  • fantastico big Luciano!!!!

  • bravissimi

    grazie

  • @adamastorBassBar No it is not. They are both good. Dont make your world of acceptance so narrow, please. If you think Pav is the greatest, fine. But it is not incredible to compare; it happens all the time. Actually, that's mostly what happens in this space.

  • Tenor: I groan as a guilty one, and my face blushes with guilt; spare the supplicant, O God. You, who absolved Mary Magdalen, and heard the prayer of the thief, have given me hope, as well. My prayers are not worthy, but show mercy, O benevolent one, lest I burn forever in fire. Give me a place among the sheep, and separate me from the goats, placing me on your right hand.

  • @2levina Incredible to think that anyone could compare a non-entity like Bocelli to the great Pav in the first place!
